Geologic sequestration

Page Content

Background

Geologic sequestration is the disposal of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the subsurface via well injection, also know as geologic sequestration or carbon capture and storage (CCS).

NGWA created the Geologic Carbon Sequestration Task Force to provide scientific input to the proposed federal rule on geologic sequestration. In December of 2008, NGWA provided comments to the U.S. EPA proposed rule on geologic sequestration.
