7th International Conference on Pharmaceuticals and Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals in Water (#5013)
Bookmark and Share

The 7th International Conference on Pharmaceuticals and Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals in Water, taking place September 22-23, 2009, at the Tremont Plaza Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, is the premiere forum on this topic.

0909235013_pills.jpgIn April 2008, the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works held a hearing entitled Pharmaceuticals in the Nation’s Water: Assessing Potential Risks and Actions to Address the Issue. The hearing was in response to a series of Associated Press articles about the public’s growing concerns over the occurrence of pharmaceuticals in the nation’s water supplies. NGWA will hold its seventh international conference to bridge the gap between the perceived human health risk and actual risk based on the most current scientific studies. The conference will present environmental occurrence data, effects on wildlife, risk management strategies, and drinking water treatment technologies. A panel of invited experts from government and industry will examine the expert testimony given at the Senate hearing and discuss public policy issues under the new Obama administration regarding drinking water.0906085077_IYPE_logo.jpg
