What is a Theis Conference?
The Theis Conference Series, named in honor of Charles V. Theis, was established in 1993 as an important effort in the promotion of hydrogeology. These conferences are designed to stimulate and enhance individual and collaborative research, and to accelerate the advance of the hydrologic sciences by providing the opportunity for the exchange of current information and exciting new ideas. The conferences provide a unique forum, bringing together a diverse group of scientists, engineers, professionals, and others from the national and international community for several days of focused examination of the issues. The programs are designed to encourage open and frank discussion of ideas in an informal atmosphere.
The conference spans four days, Friday, October 2, through Monday, October 5, and the registration fee includes all meals and breaks during that period. Registration begins on Friday, October 2, at 4 p.m. The conference opens with a dinner and reception at 6 p.m. Breakfast the next two mornings is followed by sessions. Following lunch, participants have leisure time during the afternoon. Dinner is followed by evening sessions. The conference ends at 12 noon on Monday, October 5.
