Overview

During this free 45-minute online brown bag session, you will learn about:

• Challenges involved with discriminating between trichloroethylene (TCE) uniquely released vs. originating from tetrachloroethylene (PCE) degradation — important in identifying sources and allocating responsibility when there are multiple sources in an industrial or commercial area (isotopic analysis and an understanding of fractionation can be very useful in these circumstances; a number of different techniques will be presented)
• Analysis and interpretation of data collected from a mixed gasoline plume and how environmental forensics can provide information regarding the various sources
• Available age dating and source identification techniques specific to the investigation of dry cleaners, including stabilizers, feedstock impurities, and other diagnostic indicators.

This Webinar also serves as a prelude to the NGWA short course, Environmental Forensics, taking place September 20-21, 2012 in Tampa, Florida.
