Page Content

Garden Grove, California • May 9, 2012

Conference overview

Come collaborate and network with public water supply professionals from every level of the industry during this one-day conference that will address, among other questions:

  • How do groundwater and surface water compare for public supply systems?
  • What should contractors, consulting and engineering firms, and utilities expect from each other?

During this conference, you will learn about new innovations in groundwater management, distribution, and supply. In addition, joint presentations by contractors, consultants, and key community members will address common issues and challenges that affect every member of the public water supply community.

  • Groundwater’s role in public water supply
  • EPA perspective on groundwater/surface water-based systems — pending regulations and treatment options
  • Groundwater vs. surface water for public supply — how they compare
  • Basic groundwater filtration
  • Membrane vs. conventional filtration
  • Gravel filter pack annulus
  • Submersible vs. vertical turbine pumps
  • Certified pump performance
  • Pumping unit coatings
  • Importance of well design on long-term efficiency and maintenance
  • Contractors, consultants, and utilities — what each should expect from the other.
