Conference highlights
presented by Scott Bair, Ph.D.
Bair, a professor in the Department of Geological Sciences, Ohio State University, teaches water resources, hydrogeology, hydrogeologic field methods, and numerical modeling. Read more about him.
presented by Alex Bandar, Ph.D.
Bandar will discuss the democratization of innovation, as observed from his role as director of the Columbus Idea Foundry, a community workshop space, also called a hackershop or makerspace. At the CIF, “makers” of all types — from scientists to designers and more — cross-pollinate ideas to bring to fruition the next generation of products, art projects, and innovations. Workshops such as the CIF represent an exciting new model of empowering nearly anyone with the tools to bring their idea to reality.
presented by John Jansen, Ph.D., PG
Jansen, a principal and senior hydrogeologist for Cardno ENTRIX, works on a wide variety of groundwater projects around the country, specializing in high-capacity wells and groundwater resource management. He has broad experience in well construction and maintenance, as well as water rights issues. Jansen’s also a member of the Advisory Council on Water Information, a federal advisory committee advising the U.S. government on water research priorities.
