Receive a basic understanding of the functionalities and usage of MODFLOW-USG (UnStructured Grid) — a true breakthrough in groundwater modeling — during this one-day short course.
In addition to the unprecedented flexibility of using any shape of unstructured grids in three dimensions to discretize the subsurface, MODFFLOW-USG includes the framework for fully coupled implementation of two- and one-dimensional interacting discrete features.
The flexibility provided by MODFLOW-USG also may immediately be applied for complex water supply and mining applications in fractured rock and karst aquifer settings.
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to port your MODFLOW-2005 projects into MODFLOW-USG to develop further experience with its enhanced capabilities.
You should bring a laptop computer; you will be provided with software to use during the course for the hands-on exercises.
