This half-day course focuses on how to plan for, and provide, sufficient water resources, especially groundwater, for residents and commercial use in newly, or soon-to-be, developed areas, redeveloped communities, and urban locales.
Groundwater resources are often overlooked in the planning stages and this oversight can negatively impact the quality of life of residents on several levels, as well as contribute to inefficient land use jeopardizing water resources. Too often, the hydrogeologic ordinances in a given area are neglected prior to initiating plans for development activity.
Learn how to identify proper and efficient use of groundwater resources in community development activities, provide for sufficient recharge, implement water supply systems from multiple sources, and recognize the impact of private septic systems on watersheds.
