Elementary school materials

Natural Resources Conservation Service. "The Water Cycle: Nature's Recycling System" is a poster featuring artwork of the water cycle on the front, while the reverse side offers facts and class participation examples relating to groundwater. Contact landcare@usda.gov or phone 888 526.3227.

Ohio Cooperative Extension Services. Protecting Groundwater: A Manual for Instructors, #790, provides the instructor an overview of groundwater topics. Chapters are titled "Groundwater," "Pesticide Contamination of Groundwater," "Applicator Practices," "Health Effects of Groundwater Contamination," and "Laws and Regulations." Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Groundwater educational materials lists available groundwater education and information material. Access the directory by going to http://dnr.wi.gov/education/educatorresources/groundwater.html

USGS. Lesson plans, fact sheets, CDs, posters, and more to use in teaching about groundwater. Visit http://education.usgs.gov/, then select "Education." To order teaching packets, you can also call 888 ASK USGS (888 275.8747).

Envision Environmental Education. A manufacturer of the Envision line of groundwater flow models and simulators. Line includes two separate models, but Envision can also develop custom models to fit local geology. For more information, visit http://www.envisionenviroed.net/.
