As you're busy preparing to usher out 2012 and ring in 2013, we promise not to take more than a minute or two of your time. But we could not let the year close without making the time to say thank you!

Thank you for being a member of the National Ground Water Association.

Thank you for your devotion to helping promote the responsible development, management, and use of the groundwater resource.

Thank you for your enthusiasm in sharing your groundwater knowledge not only with fellow members and other industry professionals, but in helping to educate the public.

Thank you for your time and your never-ending energy in volunteering to make the Association the best it can be.

Without dedicated and committed members like you, NGWA would not have been able to accomplish all the tremendous things it did in 2012. Here's but a smattering of what all the Association was involved with this year:

  • Continuing with the development of various industry standards, best suggested practices, and guidelines to improve your industry and work conditions, and to strengthen professional development
  • Publishing four different print periodicals and several new books and DVDs to keep you up to date on new research, industry developments, and technology trends that impact your livelihood
  • Hosting, producing, or coordinating more than 50 educational events ranging from half-hour free-to-member brown bag Webinars to the annual NGWA Summit on groundwater and the annual NGWA Expo, all designed to increase your knowledge, provide you face-to-face networking opportunities, and build groundwater community
  • Educating the public, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and others about the importance of the groundwater resource through public awareness efforts such as National Groundwater Awareness Week and Protect Your Groundwater Day
  • Collaborating with other like-minded groups, such as the U.S. Water Partnership, Coalition for National Science Funding, and the Geothermal Energy Organization, to keep the industry moving forward so the groundwater resource is wisely used, managed, and protected.

To read more about all else that happened this year, take a look at the 2012 NGWA Annual Report.

In addition, the National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation, the charitable arm of NGWA, also had an active year developing its first organized fundraising campaign in nearly two decades, providing scholarships and awards to undergraduate and grad students pursuing groundwater industry-related careers, and helping support two lecture series. Click here to read the Foundation's 2012 Annual Report.

Reflecting back on all that was accomplished in 2012, here's looking forward to all that we may accomplish working together in 2013.

May it be one of good health, peace, and prosperity for all of us!

Best regards,

Kevin McCray sig 2.jpg
