(WESTERVILLE, OH — September 29, 2011) Bill C. Stoner of Stoner Drilling Inc. in Corsicana, Texas, has received a Life Member Award from the National Ground Water Association for special service in the furtherance of the groundwater industry and NGWA.
Stoner has been a long-time leader in the groundwater industry including a term as NGWA president in 1997 and 32 years as a board member for the Texas Ground Water Association, a capacity in which he still serves. In 1986, Stoner served as president of TGWA and visited each of the eight chapters at least once to promote the industry. He also received TGWA’s Owen F. Jensen Award as Contractor of the Year in 2000.
In 2006, Stoner received NGWA’s highest honor with the Ross L. Oliver Award and in 2005 TGWA’s highest honor, an Honorary Life Membership.
“Bill is highly respected by his peers and is always willing to assist them where he can. Bill is a family man and is very close to his children and siblings,” said nominator Leroy Goodson, TGWA executive secretary.
This award will be presented December 1 at the 2011 NGWA Ground Water Expo and Annual Meeting in Las Vegas.
