(WESTERVILLE, OH — September 27, 2011) Loyd Watson, MGWC, former president of the National Ground Water Association, has received NGWA’s top award — the Ross L. Oliver Award for outstanding contributions to the groundwater industry.
NGWA’s 2007 president, Watson is now semiretired from his full-service water well contracting business, Watson Co. Inc. in Lascassas, Tennessee.
Among Watson’s groundwater industry contributions and recognitions are:
A hallmark of Watson’s years in the groundwater industry is his sacrificial service to others, expressed in a 2006 Water Well Journal® article as he prepared to assume the NGWA presidency. “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” Watson said. “The reason I volunteer is that I care about people.”
This award will be presented at the 2011 NGWA Ground Water Expo and Annual Meeting November 30 in Las Vegas.
