(WESTERVILLE, OH — September 27, 2012) George Simas, president and chief executive officer of Randolph, Massachusetts-based Flexcon Industries, has received the Manufacturers Division Special Recognition Award from the National Ground Water Association.
The award recognizes Simas’ contributions to the groundwater industry from the manufacturing sector. It will be presented in December at the NGWA Groundwater Expo and Annual Meeting in Las Vegas.
Simas started in the water industry in 1964 as a regional salesman for NIBCO, selling fittings and valves. In 1975 he joined Emerson Swan as a sales representative selling plumbing and heating products, eventually rising to the position of vice president of sales.
Emerson Swan started Flexcon Industries in 1987 as a manufacturer of pressurized diaphragm tanks for heating, thermal expansion, and water wells. Simas joined Flexcon in 1991 as vice president of sales. The company currently sells tanks to more than 100 countries.
