(WESTERVILLE, OH — September 27, 2012) Former National Ground Water Association President John W. Henrich, MGWC, CVCLD, has received NGWA’s 2012 Robert Storm Interdivisional Cooperation Award.
Henrich was selected for the Storm Award for promoting collaboration, enhancing cooperation, and fostering community among all groundwater professionals within NGWA. The Association’s four membership divisions include contractors, scientists and engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers.
The award will be presented in December at the 2012 NGWA Groundwater Expo and Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Henrich’s nominator, former NGWA National Board of Directors member Richard Clarke, sales and marketing director for SIMCO Drilling Equipment Inc. in Osceola, Iowa, said Henrich has proven himself up to the task of helping NGWA keep pace with changes in the groundwater industry and the marketplace.
“He understood the big picture and the need to develop a comprehensive approach to the problems and challenges NGWA faced,” wrote Clarke. “He made it a point to reach out to all the divisions to solicit their positions and input on key topics. His easygoing style sometimes masked his determination to build a consensus.”
NGWA’s 2011 President Art Becker, MGWC, CPG, general manager of SGS North America Inc., Environmental Services Division, Manahawkin, New Jersey, seconded Henrich’s nomination.
“I support Jack’s nomination as he always was mindful of all NGWA members in his decisions and actions. Jack is a champion for interdivisional cooperation and aggressively supported fostering of community in the NGWA,” said Becker.
In addition to serving as NGWA’s president, Henrich has served on more than eight NGWA committees and task forces, including the Professional Development Committee and chairing the Contractor Certification Subcommittee.
