Environmental Remediation Drilling Safety Guideline

Another useful resource is the Environmental Remediation Drilling Safety Guideline (PDF), a document that has been entrusted to the care of NGWA.

A summary of industry practices and techniques to enhance safety performance, environmental performance, and overall project quality, ERDSG addresses some of the most common safety concerns that should be considered while performing drilling activities.

Compiled by petroleum industry experts, environmental remediation consultants, and drilling contractors, ERDSG is of benefit to engineers, geologists, drillers and rig operators, facility and project managers, environmental health and safety professionals, and customers and client companies, among others.

ERDSG contains suggested safety practices and is not intended to establish standard industry requirements. Where more stringent safety practices are required, users should always defer to the more stringent practice. The vision of this guideline is to provide a summary of some of the best available drilling safety knowledge. By incorporating these practices, the potential for personal injury and safety-related losses may be reduced. The user of this document accepts any legal liability or responsibility whatsoever for the consequences of its use or misuse.

ERDSG is protected by copyright. The owner of the copyright hereby grants a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce and distribute this guide subject to the following limitations: (1) the document must be reproduced in its entirety without alterations; (2) all copies of this document must include a cover page bearing the copyright notice and this notice; and (3) copies of this document may not be sold.

As caretaker of ERDSG, NGWA will facilitate future revisions. Comments, concerns, and requests for revisions should be sent to jjenkins@ngwa.org.
