A helping hand for future groundwater professionals

The National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation annually awards undergraduate scholarships to assist those studying groundwater-related fields. An independent panel decides how to distribute the funds and the number of scholarships to be awarded from the pool of scholarship applicants.

Are you eligible?

  • You must be a high school graduate or full-time undergraduate student in a four-year college program or two-year well drilling associate degree program; a 2.5 grade point average is manditory for either high school or college students
  • You must be entering a field of study that serves, supports, or promotes the groundwater professions
  • If you are a previous NGWREF scholarship award recipient, you are ineligible.

Timeline

The window to submit your application is from October 15-January 15; applicants are notified of scholarship awards in May.

What about graduate or doctorate support?

Graduate students may earn scholarship awards in a poster and paper judging competition at the annual NGWA Ground Water Summit.
