Program benefits

States participating in the NGWA Affiliate State Program are entitled to the many benefits listed below. We safely estimate these benefits at a value of more than $4,000. With the fee for the Affiliate State Program between $290 and $875 (price varies depending on number of members in the respective state), it's a great deal for your association.

Benefits:

The National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation McEllhiney Lecture in Water Well Technology (currently underwritten by Franklin Electric Co.)
We sponsor the current distinguished lecturer in water well technology and provide his/her travel expenses to address your state association membership on an in-depth topic. Your association has only to cover the speaker's hotel and meal expenses for the time they are making their presentation.

 

NGWA's State Center for Ground Water Policy
Available online with access limited to Affiliate State organizations, this service tracks ground water legislative and regulatory trends in your statehouse.

 

Affiliate State Leadership Conference
The Affiliate State Leadership Conference affords state association leaders an opportunity to share information with each other, as well as learn from leading names in association management regarding topical issues. A credit is provided to each Affiliate State association to help defer expenses.

 

NGWA state membership roster
To help Affiliate State partners grow, we provide the Affiliate State with a one-time printout featuring names of NGWA members found in their respective state.

 

Director representation
To the best of our ability, NGWA tries to send an NGWA National Board director to participate in your annual state meeting.

 

A 30-minute consultation with NGWA legal counsel
NGWA's national legal counsel provides up to one-half hour of free consultation each year to your state association.

 

Hartford marketing support
Should our property and casualty insurance carrier, The Hartford, be active in your state, there is an opportunity for your Affiliate State organization to participate in a marketing program that can create nondues revenue.

 

NGWA Associate membership
Should your state have an executive, he/she will receive Associate member status in NGWA.

 

Certified names
To help Affiliate State partners grow, we provide the Affiliate State with a one-time printout featuring the names of NGWA-certified individuals found in your state.

 

Materials for auctions
Should your state association hold a fundraising auction, NGWA will annually provide up to $100 in materials from our bookstore.

We prepare a simple printed fact sheet on the importance of ground water in your state.

 

Grassroots lobbying video

The NGWA Web site offers access to Web-based services that can help make your state association run more smoothly.

Ground water industry-relevant images are always helpful when you are producing a state association newsletter.

The Interactive Roles of Surface Water & Ground Water DVD

A 20-minute DVD video animation funded by NGWA and produced by a team from the International Ground Water Modeling Center at the Colorado School of Mines, this tool will help in educating the public regarding the interaction of ground and surface waters in conjunctive-use situations.
