NGWA short course focuses on aquifer testing

(WESTERVILLE, OH — May 22, 2008) The National Ground Water Association is conducting a short course entitled "Analysis and Design of Aquifer Tests Including Slug Tests and Fracture Flow" June 16-18 in Dublin, Ohio.

 

The course curriculum is designed to present the theory of various methods for aquifer testing and analysis in a variety of hydrogeologic settings while emphasizing the practical problem-solving techniques necessary in real hydrogeological investigations. After completing this course, participants will better understand:

  • Fundamentals of aquifer hydraulics
  • Types and limitations of aquifer tests
  • Use of the Theis equation and Theis curve matching
  • Cooper-Jacob method
  • Slug tests in unconfined aquifers using the Bouwer and Rice method.
