NGWA recognizes its responsibility to ensure proper management of transboundary aquifers—continuous aquifers that extend across boundaries between political jurisdictions.
The Transboundary Aquifer Interest Group serves as the focus for such endeavors by facilitating the efforts of its members to provide expert knowledge needed to understand and manage shared aquifers. It also participates in venues where this knowledge will aid in protecting the aquifers.
