In order to foster interest in ground water science and engineering, as well as to provide an avenue for networking between students and ground water professionals, NGWA created a student chapter program.
The program provides the ground water student community an opportunity to develop and exchange knowledge regarding the ground water industry and ground water resources within a group setting at their respective school.
Each chapter must have at least five NGWA student members and one faculty advisor who is a member of NGWA. Each chapter will have a section on the NGWA Web site for posting their information. Activities can include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Chapter meetings
- Networking opportunities with potential employers
- Poster presentation opportunities
- NGWA information kiosk areas in the school
- Student volunteer opportunities at NGWA events
- Possible hosting of the NGWREF Darcy Lecturer.
