Overview:

Groundwater and surface water are interconnected water resources. Their interactions are complex, being controlled by numerous variables that may change spatially and temporally. As interest in groundwater and surface water interactions is increasing in response to limited water resources, risks of contamination, and climate change, refined understanding of the processes at the groundwater/surface water interface is critical. This course will cover the following:

  • Tools and techniques used to characterize these interactions
  • The environmental risks these interactions pose at contaminated waterways
  • Regulatory perspectives relative to resource management, environmental investigations, and remedial actions

Who Should Attend:

  • Professional Geologists and Engineers
  • Managers with Planning, Oversight, or Responsibility for Groundwater Supply Projects
  • Water Well Drilling Contractors
  • Federal, State, and Local Natural Resources Personnel
  • Public and Private Water Systems Officials
  • Water-Resource-Related Contractors and Consultants
