NGWA-Approved Continuing Education

Continuing education importance and information

Continuing education is necessary because of the constantly changing technology and equipment in today’s world. Every person in the workforce must continually learn about new products, techniques, rules and regulations, and ideas relative to their own job…or run the risk of being passed by the competition.

NGWA contractor certification logoContinuing education points (CEPs) are a requirement for maintaining designations available through NGWA’s Voluntary Certification Program.

Likewise, Certified Groundwater Professionals are required to earn professional development credits (PDCs) to maintain their CGWP designation.

Certified Groundwater Professional logoThose applicants working toward initially earning the CGWP must demonstrate continuing education in the required core competency topics.

While all NGWA certifications require continuing education, qualifying educational offerings are not required to be sponsored by, or limited to, those offered by NGWA. Continuing education can be obtained in person or online. Coursework is not required to be preapproved by NGWA — offerings not listed below will be considered — however NGWA-approved courses have already been assessed for point values, assuming the registrant attends the entire offering. Documentation of attendance is required following any event for which continuing education credit is sought.

2019 NGWA-approved continuing education offerings

NGWA-approved educational offering 2019Though preapproval is not required for an offering to be accepted toward NGWA certification renewal, the 2019 offerings listed below have already been evaluated for NGWA CEP values. Private (corporate) events are not listed. The event sponsor is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided to NGWA and fulfilling the offering of continuing education at the length of time and topics specified.

Important note: Individuals are ultimately responsible for the reporting of their continuing education activity to NGWA for their personal certification renewal requirements. Certificants must report their attendance directly to NGWA for credit to be recorded unless NGWA confirms otherwise in writing.
