Industry’s Largest Event Features Education, Exhibits, and Networking with Attendees from Around the World

(WESTERVILLE, OH — November 21, 2019) The National Ground Water Association will once again descend on Las Vegas, Nevada, to host the industry’s premier event, Groundwater Week, December 3-5 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Designed to provide educational and networking experiences to groundwater professionals, the exhibit hall will feature the latest technologies, educational opportunities, interactive activity areas, and numerous panels from industry thought leaders.

Held in conjunction with the 2019 Irrigation Show, the two events expect to draw more than 10,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors.

Groundwater Week will feature every opportunity to maximize the foundations of groundwater science with water supply, resource protection, and remediation. During the event, attendees will:

  • Explore products, technologies, and services from hundreds of exhibitors
  • Learn about industry advances by attending any number of informational and educational sessions
  • Choose from more than 50 hours of educational offerings designed to increase job performance
  • Gain valuable insight regarding future industry trends and offerings
  • Raise money to support the groundwater industry through various activities supporting NGWA’s Groundwater Foundation, including a silent auction.

Groundwater Week attendees will hear keynote speaker Jim “The Rookie” Morris tell the story of his meteoric rise from 35-year-old high school teacher to major league pitcher in just three months. Morris’ story would go on to become the basis for the 1999 hit movie The Rookie starring Dennis Quaid.

This year’s technical program will feature an opening session presented by Pat Mulroy, who will be discussing “Groundwater Challenges in Arid Lands.” Formerly with the Las Vegas Valley Water District and Southern Nevada Water Authority, Mulroy is currently serving as a nonresident senior fellow for Climate Adaptation and Environmental Policy for the Brookings Institute.

Groundwater Week attendees will also have the opportunity to attend featured presentations from NGWA’s 2019 Darcy Lecturer, John Doherty, Ph.D., and 2019 McEllhiney Lecturer, Gary Hix, RG, CWD/PI.

“Groundwater Week is a unique gathering of professionals from our diverse membership and global presence — including scientists and engineers, contractors and consultants, suppliers, and manufacturers, and attendees from over 30 different countries” said Terry S. Morse, CAE, CIC, CEO of NGWA. “As the champion for professionals in our industry, the week is designed to develop and grow successful careers in groundwater. The connections made during Groundwater Week are proven to move the industry forward.”
