NGWA sent an email with useful tips for well owners who may have questions about their well systems to all of its contractor members in the projected path of Hurricane Dorian.
The email was sent on September 6 to members in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Dorian struck Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, on September 6 as a Category 1 storm. Earlier that week, it devastated the Bahamas where it killed at least 30 people. It is the strongest storm this Atlantic hurricane season.
The tips NGWA provided included several notes from Florida-based NGWA President-Elect Merritt Partridge, CVCLD, with Partridge Well Drilling Co. Inc., who has dealt with his share of hurricanes and subsequent flooding. He provided advice on what people can do before, during, and after a storm.
There was also a video of Partridge providing advice about tending to well systems in storms that was recorded just days before Dorian made landfall and a link to a hurricane resources page on NGWA.org.
