
Dr. Daniel W. Elliott has more than 30 years’ experience performing environmental due diligence assessments, characterizing and quantifying environmental liability, managing remediation portfolios, and leading compliance audits as an environmental manager at two Fortune 500 multinational firms (Merck & Co., Inc. and American Standard, Inc.), a major research university (UNC-Chapel Hill), and in consulting. His expertise includes process wastewater treatment, hazardous waste management, multi-media (e.g. air, water, stormwater, etc.) permitting, and environmental auditing. As a consultant, Dan strives to bring the “owner’s perspective” to his practice which at present is focused primarily on the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries. Dr. Elliott is also an internationally recognized expert in the development and application of nanoscale zero-valent iron technology used for the treatment of chlorinated solvents, pesticides, and similar redox-amenable contaminants in groundwaters. A current marquee project involves the management of desktop assessments of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) losses into process wastewater and surface waters from a major manufacturer’s global supply chain which involves more than 200 API and drug product facilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, China, India, and Australia
