May 3, 2019

WWJ May 2019The May issue of Water Well Journal® contains a cover story on how to talk with homeowners about the presence of nitrates in their water systems. In “How to Talk to Homeowners About Nitrates,” Greg Gruett of Water-Right Inc. shares what common questions homeowners may pose and how to answer them.

In most cases, nitrates in drinking water do not present major health risks, but the biggest concern involves infants. Gruett speaks to that concern and then provides details on six questions that could be posed to contractors. Among those are —

  • How do nitrates get into groundwater and who is to blame?
  • Is a new well required?
  • How do I protect my family?

Gruett says it’s important to educate yourself for what may come your way because consumer interest in water issues remains strong.
