John D. Horry, a member of the National Ground Water Association, passed away on April 4 in Ridgeland, South Carolina. He was 71.
He was the owner of Horry’s Water Well Inc., a company established by his father in 1956, and soon became known to the residents of the county near him as “the pump man.” The company, which went on to employ several of Horry’s children and grandchildren, does residential systems, geothermal work, irrigation systems, commercial and monitoring systems, and more.
