The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency finalized on August 20 the deletion of six full sites and two partial sites from the National Priorities List.
The EPA also proposed partial site deletions for three sites. Ten sites had continuing long-term groundwater monitoring and institutional controls to limit groundwater access and use.
The National Priorities List is an EPA roster of the most serious uncontrolled or abandoned hazardous waste sites in the United States that qualify for long-term cleanup under the federal Superfund program.
