Henry “Hank” A. Baski, a former Groundwater Foundation McEllhiney lecturer, award winner, and long-time member, passed away on September 14 in Denver, Colorado. He was 87.
Baski was the founder and president of Baski Inc. in Sheridan, Colorado. Growing up in the groundwater industry, he was a pioneering inventor who held 14 patents and industry leader. His company is known for innovative groundwater equipment, including the Baski flow control valves, inflatable packers, frackers, pitless units, and related products used in aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), hydrofracturing, hydrology, and more.
He served as the 2004 William A. McEllhiney Distinguished Lecturer in Water Well Technology. That same year, he was recognized with the National Ground Water Association’s Technology Award, which is presented to a person who has made a major contribution to the groundwater industry in the development of ideas, tools, and equipment.
Baski received NGWA’s Life Member Award in 2014 for service in furthering the groundwater industry.
