Overview:
She Knows the Drill: Cutting Through Technical Terms and Jargon in the Groundwater Industry is a practical, one-hour webinar built to boost your confidence and fluency in the language of groundwater. Designed for women in all NGWA membership categories, this session takes the mystery out of the technical terms (the science) and industry jargon (drilling in the field) that can often feel like barriers to full participation. We'll cover real-world examples, clarify equipment terminology, and provide tips for navigating technical dialogue in both field and office settings to foster greater communication across disciplines. Walk away with a stronger grasp of the language that drives decision-making in groundwater science—and the confidence to speak it fluently. The session will also include a networking component, giving attendees the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and build relationships within the groundwater community.

- Alise Taylor, PG, is the Principal Hydrogeologist and Owner of Rockfish Aquifer Imaging. Alise is a NGWA member in the Science/Engineering section.
