Overview:

As data centers continue to expand alongside advances in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, their growing demand for water, particularly groundwater for cooling, presents new challenges and opportunities for the groundwater industry. In this 30-minute webinar, NGWA members will get an overview of NGWA’s newly released position paper on data centers and groundwater resources.

This session will highlight NGWA’s core position that data center development must protect groundwater quality and quantity, prioritize transparency in water and energy use, and incorporate best available technologies to reduce or eliminate consumptive water use. Attendees will learn about recommended planning and reporting criteria, the importance of hydrogeologic assessments, and the role of innovative solutions such as geothermal systems in reducing water demand.

Join us to better understand the implications of data center growth for groundwater professionals and how NGWA is advocating for responsible, science-based development that supports both infrastructure needs and long-term resource sustainability.

This webinar will be led by Jeff Davis, PE, CGWP, CWRE, principal at Integral Consulting Inc., and Bill Alley, Ph.D., NGWA director of science and technology.

Who Should Attend: NGWA members, including groundwater scientists, engineers, contractors, and industry professionals interested in emerging water use trends and policy.
