USGS releases second funding announcement for National Ground-Water Monitoring Network

April 17, 2019

The U.S. Geological Survey announced a second program announcement for 2019 with up to $700,000 available to provide funding for new or existing data providers to the National Ground-Water Monitoring Network (NGWMN).

The NGWMN is envisioned as a long-term collaborative partnership among federal and nonfederal data providers that will help address present and future groundwater management questions facing the nation. Funds are distributed as cooperative agreements between the USGS and the data provider, which can be a state or local government.

Cooperative agreement funding can be used for a range of activities including web services, well maintenance, site selection, and well drilling. Cooperative agreements are capped at $150,000 per year for a maximum of two years.

More information about the cooperative agreements is available on the NGWMN cooperative agreements page. Applications will be accepted through May 31, 2019. Interested agencies may apply online at grants.gov under funding opportunity number G19AS00051.

Applicants are encouraged to contact the USGS’s Daryll Pope at dpope@usgs.gov or (609) 771-3933 with any questions.
