Owner of Givens International passes away

Susie GivensSusie Givens, owner of Givens International Drilling Supplies Inc., passed away tragically on March 13 in a house fire in Corydon, Kentucky. She was 67.

Givens, a long-time NGWA member, founded the company in 1994. It’s a one-stop drilling supply company offering various brands of down-the-hole hammers and bits as well as drill steel and more. It serves customers around the world.

The company website states, “The core values of Givens International are honesty, integrity, fairness, and exceptional customer service.”

Givens began working in the drilling industry for a bit and drill steel manufacturer while in high school and worked in the industry her entire life. She was well known among groundwater professionals as Givens International exhibited at trade shows all around the country, including Groundwater Week.

She served on the NGWA Board of Directors, the Suppliers Board of Directors, and various NGWA committees.

Givens also was a board member for Kenergy Corp., an electric distribution cooperative in Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorris, who passed away in December 2020.
