Groundwater professionals descended upon Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as South Atlantic Jubilee 2021 was held July 29-August 2. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As in years past, groundwater professionals and their families enjoyed a festive atmosphere, combining the Worth Pickard Family Picnic with hours of education and a busy exhibit floor, pictured at the right.
One of the educational presentations was the 2021 Groundwater Foundation McEllhiney Lecture from Kevin McGinnis. Among other educational sessions was a talk on well fouling from Michael Schnieders, PG, PH-GW, the 2017 McEllhiney lecturer, and a session on problem wells from Stewart Krause, NGWA’s Ross L. Oliver Award winner in 2016.
There were more than 100 industry manufacturers and suppliers among the exhibitors. NGWA had a booth on the exhibit floor as well that was staffed by NGWA Vice President of Operations David Evener, CAE. The booth showcased association membership, Groundwater Week 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee, Water Well Journal®, and had free NGWA Well Owner Guides for attendees to take home and distribute to their customers. In addition, The Groundwater Foundation sponsored the Jubilee’s KidZone where Awesome Aquifer Kits were demonstrated to children in attendance — pictured here at the left — and discount cards for the kits were handed out to attendees so they could purchase kits for their families or schools in their communities.
