NGWA Vice President of Finance Becca Calkins, CPA, recently learned she has earned the certified association executive — or CAE — designation from the American Society of Association Executives.
ASAE states the CAE designation is the marker of a committed association professional who has demonstrated the wide range of knowledge essential to manage an association in today’s challenging environment.
The CAE program began in 1960, and, as of October 2021, there were 4644 CAEs in the professional association and society market.
Calkins joined NGWA in December 2019. Prior, she was the CFO of the Ohio Insurance Agents Association for nearly 10 years. She earned her CPA in 2011.
Calkins’ recently earned designation gives NGWA three CAEs on its staff. NGWA CEO Terry S. Morse, CAE, CIC, earned the designation in 2019, and David Evener, NGWA’s vice president of operations, earned the CAE in 2014.
“I have seen how our NGWA members are passionate and knowledgeable about what they do, and I feel the same way about what I do every day,” Calkins said. “I wanted to make an investment in my knowledge with the goal of giving back to the Association and its members.
“We are passionate at NGWA about groundwater professionals increasing their knowledge and doing their best work, so I’m thrilled we have a staff that feels the same about serving the members.”
