Water Well Journal® earned a pair of 2022 APEX Awards of Excellence from Communications Concepts, honoring it with other top business publications today.
WWJ was recognized for two articles authored by Editor Thad Plumley. His feature article “75 Years of Water Well Journal,” which was published in the July 2021 issue, was recognized in the Writing — Feature Writing category and his Editor’s Note from the September 2021 issue titled “The Right Description” was honored in the Writing — Regular Departments & Columns category.
This marks the 20th consecutive year WWJ has earned an award from Communications Concepts, a group that provides educational information for publishing and marketing professionals.
All told, the competition had more than 1200 submissions in 100 categories.
WWJ has won 36 APEX Awards in its history, most in the groundwater industry.
“I’m absolutely thrilled that WWJ was recognized once again by Communications Concepts,” Plumley said. “It’s always humbling to be recognized personally, but I am really proud that the article honoring WWJ’s 75-year anniversary was honored because the article features so many past editors, authors, and NGWA staff members.”
The Editor’s Note column also earned an Excel Silver Award from the AM&P Network at the association’s Amplify conference June 22-23 in Washington, D.C. The Excel Awards are the most prestigious program recognizing excellence in association media, publishing, marketing, and communication.
Plumley was also elected last month as the secretary for the AM&P Network Associations Council Advisory Board’s Executive Committee.
