Jutta L. Hager, Ph.D., PG, of Hager GeoScience Inc. passed away on August 14. She was 80.
Hager became passionate about the study of geology, obtaining her master’s degree and Ph.D. at Radcliffe College. After teaching at Wesley College, Hager founded her first geological consulting company in 1984. She founded Hager GeoScience in 1993 and served as its president since that time.
Hager served on numerous professional boards and worked on projects like looking for World War II airplanes buried in glaciers in Greenland. She presented at conferences around the world, mentored upcoming geologists for more than 30 years, and was a well-respected member of the geologic community in the New England area.
