The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed on September 13 to remove 12 chemicals from the current list of inert ingredients approved for use in pesticide products because these inert ingredients have been identified as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and they are no longer used in any registered pesticide product.
The EPA asks for public comment. This is a response to the second directive in EPA’s PFAS Strategic Roadmap, which is “Pursue a comprehensive approach to proactively prevent PFAS from entering air, land, and water at levels that can adversely impact human health and the environment.”
Submit comments, identified by docket identification (ID) number EPA-HQ-OPP-2022-0542, through the Federal eRulemaking Portal at www.regulations.gov. Comments must be received on or before October 13.
