EPA adds and proposes sites to National Priorities List with four involving groundwater contamination

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced on September 7 it is adding three sites and proposing four more sites to be added to the National Priorities List of abandoned contaminated sites needing cleanup. Four of the seven sites involve groundwater contamination.

The four are sites involving groundwater contamination are:

1. Fansteel Metals/FMRI — Muskogee, Oklahoma
2. Lot 46 Valley Gardens TCE — Des Moines, Iowa
3. Exide Baton Rouge — Baton Rouge, Louisiana
4. Former Exide Technologies-Laureldale — Laureldale, Pennsylvania.
